Home Alone 1 & 2 – Holiday Hilarity and Head Injuries
On the surface, it’s great family fun. A slapstick comedy where a kid sets up fun booby traps to defend his home against two robbers. If you want to keep it in your mind as that fun-filled holiday romp then don’t read further, because the deeper you go the more it starts to lean towards proving Kevin grows up to be Jigsaw, exacting his judgement on sinners.
Dune (2021) – Another Attempt At An Epic
The latest attempt at making Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi novel into a film is aurally and visually stunning (and we don’t just mean Timothee Chalamet).
Coming Attractions – September
What a month September was meant to be for cinematic releases in Australia. But, like everything in the last two years the September movie releases have been, well, stuffed basically, by Covid-19 and the restrictions that come along with it. If you’re a reader from basically any country other than Australia you can probably head to the cinema and see these films as scheduled. But here in Oz, we had to do a bit of guesswork. Several movies have been rescheduled and a number have been moved onto streaming services. Here’s what we’re looking forward to.
